Casting resin GTS

PUR dye

Polyester dye

There are several products you can use to cast moulded parts. But the most important thing is what or what result do you want to achieve? Are you looking for something colourless or coloured? Should it remain transparent or should you not be able to see through it? Does it have to be lightweight or very heavy? Should you be able to work on it afterwards, by sanding, milling or turning it?

If you wish to cast something colourless, you can use Epoxy Clear. This casting resin can be poured in thin or thick layers.

Would you like to cast something, e.g. a flower or an object, in a colourless resin? Then use Polyester GTS, a crystal-clear casting resin.

If you want to colour these resins with a transparent pigment, you should use the universal PU pigments. If it has to be translucent, work better with the polyester pigments when working with a polyester resin.

How do you determine the weight of casting resin?

Aerocell

Quartz sand

PU resin

If you wish to make your object lightweight, add Aerocell to your casting resin. This will make the volume swell and it will weigh less. Conversely, you can make your cast heavier by adding quartz sand. This results in so-called polymer concrete, which is up to four times stronger than regular concrete.

For easy sanding, milling or turning of your casting resin, we suggest using Epoxy Clear with sawdust, a wood-like resin that can be worked like softwood.

You also have the choice of a thin liquid, but very fast-curing casting polyurethane. This exists in different variants, in order to quickly, thinly and shrink-wrapped cast figures or shaped pieces.
